How long will my reel take to build?
This is obviously dependent on a lot of different factors; however an estimated delivery date will be advised at the time of ordering. For custom made reels, at least six weeks from the date of order is a fair estimate - however please refer to your quotation for a more accurate time frame.
Can I change my hose reel specifications once production has started?
Please ensure all specifications are final before confirming that we can begin production. Custom orders, once placed, are irrevocable, and cannot be returned for credit or exchange.
Do you provide an installation service?
Our custom made hose reels are quoted ex Kings Park NSW - we don't generally include installation with custom hose reels, however an installation service is available by arrangement.
What warranty is offered on custom made hose reels?
A 12 month warranty is offered on custom made hose reels. The terms of warranty are as per our standard Terms and Conditions.
Can you supply 3D drawings so I can incorporate them into my application designs?
Yes - we can supply skinned .dxf 3D drawings for use in your CAD drawing program. These are available by emailing us with the part number of the reel you require. Note that due to the individual nature of custom made reels, these drawings may not be available immediately and may need to be created for you. Also, during the process of fabricating the reel, measurements may change by fractional amounts. Please keep this in mind and allow a little breathing room if you're designing around one of our reels.
What information do you require to provide me with a custom hose reel quote?
To quote accurately, we need quite a bit of info from you. This can include hose size, pressures, temperatures, bend radius of the hose, reel construction materials, rewind system, what will be flowing through the reel etc. This sounds like a lot – but it enables us to quote with absolute accuracy the best reel for your unique application. Please see our custom hose reel section to find out more or go to Request a Quote and complete the form to get the ball rolling.
Can I turn my spring retractable hose reel into a 'constant tension' reel?
Yes, all spring driven polypropylene reels can be converted to constant tension simply by removing the latch mechanism. Please refer to your service manual for an exploded view of the hose reel components, or you can contact us for information on how to do this. Please ensure that if you're converting a reel in your workplace that staff are aware of the change from ratcheting to constant tension, and ensure the hose does not fly back uncontrolled. The force behind an uncontrolled hose under constant tension can cause injury to workers and damage to equipment and the reel itself.
Do you supply hose as a standalone product?
Short answer - no. While we can supply your hose reel with hose, we are first and foremost a hose reel manufacturer not a hose supplier, so if you're simply looking for just hose we're probably not the best choice. However, if you're buying hose as a replacement or spare part for your ReCoila reel, or you want to order a hose assembly for a new ReCoila steel reel, we can certainly help you out. Please contact us and let us know what you're after.
I have a manual hose reel, can I upgrade it to a motor driven version?
Yes, most (but not all) manual reels can be converted to electric, hydraulic or pneumatic motor driven reels. ReCoila have a number of conversion kits available. Please call us with information on the reel you have and the type of motor you're after, and we'll let you know if they are compatible.
Can I add heavy duty hose to my polypropylene hose reel?
Heavy duty EPDM rubber hose is available on our AW Series air / water hose reel and is especially useful in fabrication areas where welding spatter adversely effects the hose. See part number AWHD1210 for more information. Our steel reels are supplied without hose as standard, so if you'd like us to include the hose of your choice please let us know when you enquire or order. We can source hose for any industrial application.
READ THE SERVICE MANUAL. Operating your hose reel is generally pretty straightforward; however there are a couple of very important points you need to be aware of to avoid injury to yourself and damage to your reel. These are covered off at the start of the manual and include things such as not letting the hose fly back uncontrolled into the reel, not opening the spring canister and more. So please - read the service manual!
Generally, no - our reels are designed for use from a fixed position; however they can be mounted in multiple ways for the most practical access, such as under a bench, from a ceiling, and also vehicle mounted. Please refer to the manual for mounting positions for your particular reel as there are guidelines relating to maximum mounting heights for effective operation. Sometimes we find people mistake our potable water reel for a portable water reel - we do have a reel for potable (drinking) water, but it is not portable.
All our polypropylene reels are blue, bar the G1218 Garden hose reel which is green. We do custom colour reels on a very occasional basis for large volume orders - so if you'd like a whole container load of hot pink, give us a call and we'll see what we can do.
If you've seen a polypropylene ReCoila reel in red, orange, black or another colour, it may have been one of our older Gen I or II reels which have been out of production for quite a few years now, but many are still going strong in workplaces across the country. Blaze Blue is the standard powder coating colour for steel reels however your individual powder coat colour and specification can be accommodated in most cases.
If you'd like to discuss the kind of reel you need or need some advice on your particular application, please contact us. Or, if you're after a custom made reel, you might like to contact us direct.
Hose Reels spare parts are available for all of our reels; including those that have been superseded. We're still able to provide some parts for the Gen I Strata hose reel; first produced around twenty years ago.
Some parts are only available as an assembly - please refer to your ReCoila service manual to locate the part you need (you'll find parts breakdown drawings towards the back of the booklet). Give us a call if you need a hand, or you can even email us a photo if you're not sure which part you need. As for purchasing spare parts, you can order direct from us.
You sure can - our RF Series reels are ideal for simple storage-only applications and can be built in any size to house long lengths of hose. Storage reels are an item that we quote on an individual basis - please see the custom hose reel section for more information.
Most of our steel reels are supplied without hose. Due to the vast variety of applications that our steel ranges are suited to, it's often easier if you supply your own hose. Of course, if you need hose, just let us know when you enquire and we'll be sure to specify hose in your quote. All our polypropylene reels are supplied with hose, as are our constant tension reels.
No – instead we sell through an extensive distribution network across Australia and beyond who are able to provide you with pricing and availability details in your local area for most of our hose reels. However, if you are a truck builder, OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or you require a custom built hose reel please contact us direct - custom made reels are a team effort and are generally specified by you, designed and manufactured by ReCoila and then supplied through your local distributor.
