Yes, all spring driven polypropylene reels can be converted to constant tension simply by removing the latch mechanism. Please refer to your service manual for an exploded view of the hose reel components, or you can contact us for information on how to do this. Please ensure that if you're converting a reel in your workplace that staff are aware of the change from ratcheting to constant tension, and ensure the hose does not fly back uncontrolled. The force behind an uncontrolled hose under constant tension can cause injury to workers and damage to equipment and the reel itself.
There are many aftermarket accessories available for most of our reels. Whether it is roller guides for the C Series or a bevel crank gear for the manual T Series, we have most applications covered. If you have an existing reel and you'd like to alter it or retrofit a part, please call us - we can most likely upgrade your reel to suit your needs.
You'll note that there is a mounting template printed on the top flap of the carton your reel came in (or you can print it off here). You can use this to mark your hole position when you mount your reel. Please note that you must support the bottom mounting boss of the reel in the bottom bracket as you are attaching the top bracket. If you don't support the reel and leave it hanging at an angle, undue stress is placed on the mounting boss which can cause the mounting boss to fail immediately, or soon after use. Refer to your manual for the various positions your reel can be mounted in as well as recommended heights for mounting.
